Articles On Anabaptish Views, And Early Church Views

  • Anabaptish Identity:

Those who claim Anabaptism as a title after or before Christian seem to be trying to make a claim on the life the Early Anabaptists had. Are the present day Mennonite/Amish like the Anabaptist? Do they baptize upon confession of faith or do they wait six months? Are they vigorous evangelists and preachers, or are they content to be the quiet of the land?

  • Twenty Counts Of Abandoning The Faith And Vision Of The Anabaptist Reformation:

    1. We have lost the prophetic zeal of the Anabaptists, and have turned to pietistic quietism – we no longer prophesy against sin in the nations and in the denominations.
    2. Because we no longer vigorously testify of the world and worldly religions that the works thereof are evil, they no longer hate us, and we have become “respectable” at the price of polite silence on popular sins.

  • Deceived By A False Gospel

Have you ever been lied to or deceived? All of us have been, the problem is we don't know it at the time because most lies contain a certain amount of truth. This is why it is so difficult to know when we are deceived. What if you were deceived right now? How would you know? I suppose you wouldn't. That is the irony of deception ... you don't know it. Let’s apply this to Christianity.

  • Faith

The definition of faith according to Protestant evangelicals I recently heard a protestant evangelical preaching… “Faith and works are mutually exclusive." A man who held this view once told me that… “Faith is something you just can’t quite put your finger on. Once you think you have it pinned down then… puff, it vanishes away.” The definition of faith according to Protestant evangelicals then is as follows… Faith; The hope of things not the substance of them, the things not seen rather than the evidence of those things.

  • Saved? Saved From What?

How to get saved if you're an Evangelical who has accepted Jesus. Today there is a fake Jesus being preached and people are accepting him. So if you’re an evangelical that claims to have accepted Jesus as your personal savior, then you may very well have received the fake one without knowing it.

  • Early Church Stance Toward War And Non Resistance

Perhaps there are two dozen or more questions that accompany this statement, but all of them can be answered in one reply, a simple teaching right from Jesus' own mouth: "Love your enemies".
Historically the Early Church was non-resistant, meaning that they did not participate in warfare through military service, or political office. In fact they took Jesus' teachings to love your enemies so literally they taught that a Christian was commanded to actually turn the other cheek when someone slapped him. Have you ever wondered why the Early Church never retaliated when they were persecuted by the Roman Government?

An Effective Way To Reach Others With The Truth

  • Preaching With Signs

How We Started Preaching With Signs More than 15 years ago David Keeling began using foam-boards with messages printed on them to preach with. He found these signs were able to convey a single, simple message to a large crowd better than any other medium. They were more effective than tracts, because these are often disregarded. Preaching audibly is beneficial, but it has limitations in a noisy crowd. However, a preacher standing in the middle of a crowd with a sign at eye level is something not easily ignored. The signs are always read.

  • The Party Ends In Hell

Here's why One of the signs we carry preaching on the street says. "The Party Ends in Hell".
It seems today that there is this idea that once you get saved all of your sins are covered and forgiven so that you can live any way you desire. We often hold the party ends in hell sign on South St. in Springfield, Missouri, or on Dickson St. in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Both of these places are known for their party atmosphere, and nearly every night that we preach with this sign someone drunk walks by and says, "I'm a Christian. I believe in Gods grace - He will forgive me".
